BIRMINGHAM, Alabama - May 15, 2017 - The Take Back Action Fund Board met today in Birmingham and elected Randy Brooks Chair. The Board also elected Juleanna Glover, John Pudner, Charles Hellwig and Marty Connors to one-year terms. Two years ago Pudner, the Executive Director of Take Back Our Republic (Take Back), a non-partisan 501(c)3 organization (see details on www.takeback.org), announced the formation of Take Back Our Republic Action Fund (Action Fund). He noted that some strong conservatives with deep experience in politics, campaigns, and government believed in the educational effort of Take Back, but sought to advocate policies and implement specific solutions activities which go beyond the scope of the efforts of Take Back. The group currently advocated the passage of HR1341 and other campaign finance reform measures. The bios of the members are as follows: Randy Brooks , CEO of Avast Real Estate, built his real estate operation of more than 100 people with his me

Both Sides Sling Dark Money in Supreme Court Fight

April 5th, 2017 by  Take Back Action Team I'm sure it'll come as no surprise to you... but dark money is being used to attack Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee, as well as defend him.  It is hypocritical to exploiting the campaign finance rules, funneling as much secret, dark money from the mega-wealthy as possible to stop Gorsuch, in the name of stopping dark money. It's a classic "ends justify any means" effort.  I'm absolutely fed up with this and I know you are too.  Let’s be clear, both sides are to blame. I've frequently called out groups supporting President Trump for their lack of transparency. However, I believe it would be wrong on our part to attack them without also calling out the Constitutional Responsibility Project which launched a TV ad buy targeted at convincing Democrat Senators- who unanimously confirmed Judge Gorsuch last time- to oppose Donald Trump’s nominee.  It is unrealistic to ask either side to unilaterally

Former Auburn University Coach Stops by Take Back Action Fund Office

April 5th, 2017 by  Take Back Action Team Take Back Action Fund is inviting any potential candidate for office to stop by and hear us out on why every Republican, Democrat, third party candidate and Independent should back campaign finance reform. The first potential candidate for the 2018 election cycle to take us up on the offer was former Auburn football coach Tommy Tuberville, who is said to be considering a run for Governor. We were honored to be among the first stops on his "listening tour." Last fall, President Trump made a promise to "Drain the Swamp," and the American people embraced the idea of an outsider running the country. Will Alabamians look to do the same in 2018? Tuberville, who made his stop by our office this week, may be eager to find out. Tuberville was an outstanding football coach, and he is hoping that his leadership experience- outside of politics- will prompt Alabama voters to select him to lead the state. We enjoyed the oppo

Take Back Action Fund Targets Arizona Voters with First Mailer

Image
August 29th, 2016 by  Take Back Action Team Take Back Action Fund (Action Fund) continued its research into the ability to increase voter participation by sending its first voter mailer into Arizona prior to Tuesday's primary in the 5th Congressional district. The Action Fund was formed due to interest from some supporters of Take Back Our Republic, a non-profit recognized as a 501-c3 by the IRS, to advance the search for conservative solutions for campaign finance reform beyond the scope of that organization including electioneering.  Congressman Matt Salmon of Mesa co-sponsored the result of efforts to stop unverified credit card contributions that invite foreign contribution, HR4177, whose sponsor Paul Gosar is also in the Arizona delegation. Salmon is not running for re-election With a state goal of breaking politicians addiction to a few large campaign contributions, the mailer is part of an effort to determine the best ways to turn out voters in cost-effective ways t

NC Governor +15 after LGBT $$$ Attack

July 25th, 2016 by  Take Back Action Team Author's note: while remaining concerned about this issue, I did write a follow-up piece in NewsMax on this topic. Please join the 10,000+ who have shared my  Breitbart story  and ask everyone you know to join  www.takebackactionfund.org  to educate people on the big money behind legislation that would give any of the nations 747,000 convicted sex offenders a get out of jail card if they follow a woman into a women's restroom or public shower. Incredible money flooded the state to back the effort started when groups allied with the Charlotte Business Guild, led by convicted registered sexual offender  Chad Sevearance after they put pressure on Governor McCrory to support the LGBT bathroom bill. This is one more example of why conservatives must get engaged in the money in politics debate. The group run by the registered sexual offender helped convince national LGBT groups, as well as performers, corporations, sports leagues

President of Take Back Action Fund John Pudner quoted in recent AJC article

February 23rd, 2016 by  Take Back Action Team Take Back Action Fund President John Pudner was quoted in a recent AJC updated for his comments on Bernie Sanders campaign being the only remaining campaign refusing to let banks verify credit card contributions. Read John's full comments below. A campaign finance reform group  based in neighboring Alabama has taken aim at Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders campaign for the presidency. John Pudner of the Take Back Action Fund called Sanders the only remaining presidential candidate who has refused to let banks verify his contributions by matching a credit card to the donor. The campaign instead relies on an outside vendor for the work. "Bernie Sanders needs to put his money where his mouth is on campaign finance reform," said Pudner, adding: No politician has benefited more from talking about campaign finance reform, but now it is time for him to lead by example and not just words. The group is pushing HR4177, whic
